Korean typing test · 60 seconds
1-minute Korean typing test
Type TOPIK words for 60 seconds. You get words per minute, syllables per minute, accuracy, and the three letters you missed most. The clock starts on your first key.
Type the word, then Space. A wrong key doesn't move you forward: press the right one. Esc restarts.

How the score works
WPM counts correct keystrokes, five to a word, per minute of typing. Gaps longer than 3 seconds don't count as typing time. That is the same rule as the WPM counter in Practice, so the two numbers compare directly.
Syllables per minute counts finished Hangul blocks: 학교 is two. Korean writing tasks are measured in characters, so this is the number to watch for exams. TOPIK words average about 2.5 keystrokes per syllable plus a space between words, so 35 syllables a minute comes out near 20 WPM.
Accuracy is correct keys out of all keys pressed. The missed-letter list shows the jamo you were supposed to type when you hit the wrong key.
What score do you need?
For the TOPIK II writing section we suggest 30 to 40 syllables per minute (roughly 17 to 23 WPM on this test) before test day. That is our own estimate, worked out from the essay lengths and the time limit; TOPIK publishes no speed requirement. The math is on the TOPIK typing guide.
Under 15 syllables a minute usually means you are still looking for keys. Spend a session on the interactive keyboard, then come back.
