Saved in your browser
Your lesson progress, settings, best scores, the display name you pick and a random player ID are saved in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes them.
Anonymous typing-speed stats
When you finish a practice session or a typing test, the site sends one row to its database (hosted by Supabase): your speed, accuracy, TOPIK level, which mode you used, how long the session lasted, and a country guessed from your device's time zone. The row has no name, no player ID and no account. The rows show how fast learners type, for example at each TOPIK level.
Battle leaderboard
When a Battle run ends, your score is sent with your display name, country, fandom (if you chose one), level, points and your random player ID. Each run is also logged with that ID, level and points. The leaderboard is public: anyone can see the names, countries, fandoms, levels and scores on it, so pick a name you are happy to show. To have an entry removed, message me on Instagram.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 counts visits and records how the site is used: which pages you open, which modes you play, and results such as test scores. It sets cookies (their names start with _ga), and Google receives your IP address. You can block it with Google's opt-out add-on or a tracker blocker.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare hosts the site and counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
Some pages may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads, including personalized ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google explains what it collects in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google shows a consent message where you choose how your data is used for ads.
Fonts
Korean text uses Noto Sans KR from Google Fonts, so your browser downloads the font files from Google's servers.
